Mistik was founded by Jean-Éric Marie, who comes from the island of Mauritius. Growing up among the lush plants and animal life in the tropical forest, he learned to love and respect nature. After completing his scientific studies in France, he experienced a turning point in his life when one of the researchers who taught him died of prolonged exposure to toxic products. Profoundly shaken, Jean-Éric decided to turn toward green chemistry. As a green chemist, he wanted to develop and market 100% natural body care products made from renewable plant sources containing no petrochemical compounds. In 2009, this vision led him to another island, Montreal, where he founded Mistik, and where he still loves and respects nature.
